An experiment was done by randomly assigning each participant either to walk for half an hour three times a week, to sit quietly reading a book for half an hour three times a week, or to not change behavior at all (control). At various points over the next year the participants’ blood pressure was measured, and the results were compared for the three groups. This is a randomized experiment rather than an observational study because:  Â
 A. Participants were randomly assigned to either the reading group, activity group or the control group
 B. The three groups were compared at the end of the study.
 C. A random sample of participants was used
 D. The dependent variable - blood pressure – was checked randomly throughout the year.Â
