We must take math courses to have gain a healthy base of knowledge in the subject. Math is used all throughout nursing. Medications are a significant reason for why math is required for nursing. We will have to use decimals and percentages to get the correct dosage of medications to make sure that we do not over or under dose our patients. This can be in a fast paced environment where we need to do these conversions readily and will not have time to look them up; it is important that we have a solid grasp of this concept. We will need to be competent enough in these skills to teach our patients as well. As a nurse we will need to educate our patients in the correct ways to use their medication. In short math is a vital skill needed to become an effective nurse to ensure the safety of our patients. (respond to this original post on your own words use 75 words, and reference.)
