gather data on nurse staffing levels and medication errors for 50 random days. The results of your data 
collection are in a separate document (medication errors.pdf). 

 

Generate a scatter diagram that shows the relationship between the number of medication errors and 
number of nursing staff on duty. Plot the number of errors on the y-axis and the number of staff on the 
x-axis. 
Analysis: Answer the following questions: 

 

1. Were the team members correct in their assumption? 

2. What is the relationship between medication errors and the number of nurses on duty? 
3. Describe what your scatter diagram reveals. Describe possible causes for the trend/pattern identified.
