INPATIENT HOSPITAL Gender: M Age: 61 Preprocedure diagnosis: Esophageal varices, portal hypertension due to cirrhosis. Procedure: Ligation of esophageal vein. Passed endoscope through the mouth down the esophagus and visualized the varices. Snared the varices and placed extraluminal rubber bands around the veins to tie them off. Patient tolerated procedure well.
