According to White (2020), the Imago Dei doctrine states that the Christian concept that human beings are formed in the image of God is known as Imago Dei. It is possible to have an appreciation for the fundamental components of human flourishing that need to form the basis of medicine and offer content for Christian bioethics. According to Cherry (2017), the concept of the Imago Dei emphasizes a core relationship between God and man. This relationship has ramifications for appropriately valuing basic human values and human flourishing, which therefore has repercussions for the decision-making process in the health field. The belief that each patient is a reflection of God in human form, providing nurses with motivation, persistent strength, and nurturing tendencies in their daily lives, is known as the imago Dei, and it is important in the field of health care because it provides support for the position that holistic care is made possible by the Christian nurse’s belief in God and that holistic care is made possible by the Christian nurse’s belief that each patient is a reflection of God in human form. According to Rieg et al., (2018), nurses are aware that faith in God may be discovered to be an enduring source of strength, perseverance, and joy for nurses.Â
