Liz Kelly is a 27-year old female who is presenting to the office with her 4-month old daughter, Lilly. On entering the room, you observe that Lilly is awake and alert, interacting with her mother, but she is crying and is very squirmy. Liz reports that she has come into the office today because she noticed some red spots around Lilly’s diaper area a few days ago and applied extra diaper cream. Over the course of the last day the spots got bigger and more reddened and she has some cracking of the skin in the folds of her legs. She has also noticed some slightly yellow drainage when wiping and an odd odor. She is concerned because it seems very uncomfortable for Lilly and she screams and cries uncontrollably whenever she urinates or defecates. You identify that Lilly has a fungal diaper rash.

What are your options for treatment of this rash?

2. What education will you give to Liz about administering this medication to Lilly and
