uncontrolled hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. He is returning home and you  
have been assigned to perform a home visit and do medication teaching. Mr. M. has no  
other medical history, previously took no medications, and has no allergies. He sought  
care at the ER for blurry vision and his blood pressure was measured at 310/180. He  
has been stabilized.  
Create a teaching plan for the medications listed below. He speaks English well, but  
only has a sixth grade education. This teaching plan needs to be complete.  
• Metoprolol 75mg PO BID  
• Lipitor® 20mg PO QHS  
• Terazosin 2mg PO QHS  
• Nitroglycerin 0.4mg SL x3 PRN for chest pain  
Write a narrative describing how you would teach Mr. M. about his medications. Use
