The nurse is seeing a client in the health clinic for vaccine administration. Identify cues that may be of concern.
onathan is seen in the health clinic after testing positive for CO-V-Sars2. He says that he has had a fever, fatigue, and loss of smell. When asked if he has treated his condition, he says that he did what the health department website recommended, including ibuprofen for pain and fever, along with frequent rest periods. In addition, Jonathan found another article using an internet search, which recommended high dose vitamin D, so he started that. Jonathan says that his doctor recommends the vaccine in a couple of weeks but he isn’t going to take it because it said on social media that it was not safe. The vaccine has been approved for use in Jonathan’s case by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
