Procedure: Single chamber defibrillator removal, and single chamber defibrillator replacement. Indication: This 68-year-old female who had ventricular fibrillation arrest in the past, who has a single-chamber defibrillator. The patient comes now for elective replacement of her defibrillator generator as the device has come to elective replacement indicator. Procedure Description: The left periclavicular area was prepped and draped in the usual fashion. Using sharp and blunt dissection, the pocket was opened and the device explanted. The device was separated from the lead. The pacing lead was checked and found to be stable. The generator was brought into the field and the pins of the lead were then attached to the new generator.
